From 2002-2004, New Leaf was recipient of a Small Business Innovation Research grant from the National Institutes of Environmental Health Sciences. Working with the Hazardous Materials Research Institute, New Leaf produced a set of three worker training DVDs that utilize DVD's interactive layer to make the content rich with user choices and pathways. | POETRY OF PLACE: IOWA'S REGIONALIST ARTISTS BETWEEN THE WARS |

On April 19, 2009, Iowa Public Television aired the broadcast premiere of Poetry of Place, an hour-long documentary about the Regionalist arts in Iowa during the Great Depression. Painters Grant Wood and Marvin Cone, and writers Jay Sigmund and Paul Engle — all good friends — produced prolifically during the 1920s - 1940s, primarily in the Cedar Rapids, Iowa area. |

| During 2007-08, New Leaf Interactive Media's Dean Rathje produced a documentary video for Iowa Public Television, using a $15,000 scriptwriting grant from Humanities Iowa.
